If you haven't been to the monthly Odyssey Storytelling show at the Club Congress, then you are missing something uniquely Tucsonian.
The Odyssey Storytelling group puts on a show at the Club Congress on the first Thursday of each month. 5 to 7 local personalities give a 10 to 15 minute story on the theme for the month. The theme this month is:
Crazy for You: An Evening about Insanity - curated by Sarah K. Smith
Stories of the mad, insane, and whacky. The eccentric family member. The psychotic boyfriend. The off-the wall teacher. The nonsensical red-tape. Finding yourself in a ridiculous or unimaginable situation. Falling crazy in love . Bizarre fanaticism. Looney ideas and dreams. Reasons for (or against) Prozac, Valium, Lithium, and Ritalin. The people and things that drive you crazy.
The cost is $7.00 (I believe they only accept cash) for the show. For those who wish, we can meet at 5:15 p.m. at The Cup in the Hotel Congress for dinner. They have a rather eclectic menu (not your basic fare) that runs between $10 - $18 for dinner entrees. Please seehttp://www.hotelcongress.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/DinnerMenu-web1.jpg for their current menu.
If you cannot make dinner and just want to come for the show, meet us in the little bar in the lobby at 6:30 p.m. We can no longer get reserved seats for the show, so let's try to go in together no later than 6:35 p.m.
